When cooking chicken, potatoes or vegetables, I often wax poetic about that brief period of my life when I had an air fryer. It made everything easier and made great quality food as well. Now I’m tempted to get back on the air fryer train thanks to a big sale on Ninja’s DZ550 air fryer. This model is currently available in a Black Friday deal for just $130, down from $250 – a whopping 48 percent off.
The DZ550 is a version of one of our top choices for air fryers – with the added benefit of having a thermometer included. The thermometer will give you the exact level of doneness you’re looking for in the two independent five-quart air fryer baskets – yes, you can cook two different things at once. You can also use two different options from the six cooking settings: air fryer, air broil, roast, bake, dehydrate and reheat.
The main problem with this air fryer is the size. You won’t want to buy the Ninja DZ550 Air Fryer if your counter and storage space is limited. It has a depth of 17.1 inches and a width of 13.9 inches, so it’s going to take up some space. But, it’s big enough that you can cook two things at once, so only you can decide if the deal is worth it.
Sony has given us the first proper look at Until Dawn, the movie adaptation of Supermassive’s do-it-yourself adventure horror game. Instead of offering a teaser or trailer, the company has opted to offer a small vignette in which the film’s writer and director explain how their project differs from the game.
As revealed during Sony’s CES 2025 keynote last week, Until Dawn features a new story and different characters from the original work. Director David F. Sandberg (Lights Out, Shazam!) says the film has “the same kind of tone, the same kind of atmosphere, but it expands the universe.”
In the game, the characters’ fates are determined by the plot choices you make, many of which lead to them dying horrible deaths. Sandberg explained that the same thing will happen here, as things start over and characters get a chance to try again after everything is gone. “Every time they come back to life, it’s like they’re in a new horror genre,” the director said. “To survive, they have to survive until morning.”
